Otero Dance Studio recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary! It originally started out as an after school dance program in 1981. The program has grown exponentially since then and currently provides instruction in ballet, pointe, children’s movement, acrobatics, jazz, and tap.
It’s been said that La Junta hand-down has some of the best Mexican food in the country.
Head to 1617 Raton Avenue, just a few blocks from the Otero College Campus, to satisfy your cravings for one of La Junta’s favorite locally owned Mexican Food restaurants. Among the residential neighborhood, Mexico City Cafe is a hidden gem that is a must-stop place to eat in La Junta.
Formally known as OJC Dance, Otero Dance Studio offers classes for kids ages 3 and up. Their class levels range from beginning to advanced. Classes are held for a few months in the fall and a few months in the spring. Dance recitals typically occur twice per year in the Spring and Winter.
The studio is committed to providing quality dance instruction. The founder of OJC Dance, Darlene Blackford, always encouraged dancers to “dance with joy.” They have held to this slogan for four decades now.
