Every great film owes its success to the quality of its story. There is absolutely no circumstance in which it is impossible to make a good short film, and there are an infinite number of great stories that could be told. The following videos are a great resource for the beginning filmmaker.

The Second Annual Arkansas Valley Film Festival will take place December 16, 2022, at the Fox Theater in La Junta, Colorado.
Entry form and the film must be received by November 18, 2022.
No. All films must fit into one of the five submission categories.
A team of five to six judges will watch every film that is submitted. They rate films on storytelling, filmmaking techniques, and general audience appeal.
Yes! These awards and prizes will be announced closer to the festival.
Our mission is to get your film seen by as many people as possible so it can have the greatest impact and so that you can grow as a filmmaker and get more exposure. The Arkansas Film Festival does not own your film, but distributing these films helps our filmmakers and increases the exposure of the festival and youth filmmaking community.
We ask that short films be school appropriate. Films that are excessively graphic for no apparent reason will likely not be accepted and shown.

Yes! Our registration page allows you to submit your film in a number of ways including YouTube or Vimeo links.
All music and other copyrighted material used in the film must be properly licensed. This includes Student Music Videos. See the Music Resource Guide for full details.
No. Students can only submit one film.
Unfortunately at this time, we are not accepting submissions from elementary school students for the film festival. However, we may review this in future years as the film festival grows.
We strongly do not recommend submitting rough cuts. If you do send in a rough cut, make a title on-screen before the film that says what is rough or temp. Your overall film length may not get any longer with your final cut.
If your film is accepted, yes. Every film that is accepted gets one (1) complimentary pass to the Arkansas Film Festival. Additional passes will be available for purchase.
